Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour's son got 16 months in jail Friday for his part in a London demonstration in which protesters attacked Prince Charles' car. A judge told Charlie Gilmour, a student at Girton College at Cambridge University, his behavior was "outrageous and deeply offensive," The Daily Telegraph reported. Charlie Gilmour acknowledged hanging from a flagpole on the Cenotaph, the memorial to Britain's war dead, and jumping on a Jaguar in the prince's convoy. At the sentencing in Kingston-on-Thames Crown Court, Judge Nicholas Price said he had determined the younger Gilmour threw a trash can at the Jaguar. The judge said Gilmour, 21, must be incarcerated for at least eight months. "Such outrageous and deeply offensive behavior gives a clear indication of how out of control you were that day," Price said. "It caused public outrage and understandably so." Thousands of students rallied in London Dec. 9, 2010, to protest increases in university fees. Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, were briefly trapped by demonstrators who surrounded their car chanting "Off with their heads."
