Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram strongly denied recent allegations that she bought the music award presented to her at the World Music Awards. “I deserve the award, I do not need to buy it,” said Nancy. Nancy dismissed accusations that artists buy such awards. She said that she considers the award a blessing from God and proof that fans admire her, especially since the award is granted based on the sales of an artist’s album. Nancy won the award after a fierce competition between her and Lebanese singer Nawal Al Zoughbi and Egyptian singer Amr Diab. Nancy said that she was shocked when the organizers of the Awards announced that she won and only believed it when they personally called her.
