The mother of Hugh Grant's daughter was granted an injunction "prohibiting harassment" of her and her child after photographers made their life "unbearable", a judge has said.Chinese actress Tinglan Hong was granted the High Court injunction last week, but Mr Justice Tugendhat only stated his reasons for doing so in a written ruling on Friday. He said that while Mr Grant "is very well-known", Ms Hong "has never sought any publicity or been known to the public for any reason"."She cannot leave her home without being followed and there are constantly photographers waiting outside her home," the judge said.In April, the News Of The World published a front-page story entitled "Hugh's Secret Girl", which speculated on whether she was pregnant "as in fact she was, albeit in the very early stages".Since then, the judge said, "she has been followed regularly and photographed without her consent. She has found this distressing at a time when she was pregnant".The judge also referred to an incident in July when 51-year-old Grant appeared on Question Time and talked about the phone-hacking scandal. That evening Ms Hong, who was seven months pregnant, "started to receive telephone calls on her mobile and land lines from callers who withheld their numbers".The judge added: "After first ignoring such calls she did answer one. The person calling said 'Tell Hugh Grant to shut the f*** up'."The Four weddings And A Funeral star is due to give evidence on Monday at the Leveson Inquiry into phone hacking. The birth of the baby girl was announced earlier this month, after which Ms Hon was not "able to take her daughter outside" and was "unable to look after her daughter in a normal way".The judge said: "She has had to cancel appointments, including ones for her child. She is frightened to drive with her child because the distraction makes it unsafe."Mr Justice Tugendhat said he was satisfied that it was "necessary and proportionate to grant the injunction sought".
