Italian-US actress Isabella Rossellini will head the jury for the sideline Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival next month, organisers announced on Friday.
The section, separate from the main competition line-up of the May 13-24 festival, aims to recognise up-and-coming filmmakers.
Rossellini, a 62-year-old former model, is considered cinema royalty. The daughter of Swedish-born screen legend Ingrid Bergman and Italian director Roberto Rossellini, she was once married to Martin Scorsese and went out with David Lynch.
Cannes this year will pay homage to Bergman, star of "Casablanca" and a triple Oscar winner who died in 1982, including by screening of a documentary of her life.
Rossellini will also launch at Cannes a stage show that pays tribute to her mother that will go on to play around the world.
The festival's organisers are to announce the films in the competition and Un Certain Regard line-ups next week.
