Emma Watson has high praise for Steve Carell, who made a quiet fashion statement about gender equality at the Oscar Awards.
The 24-year-old actress recently took to Twitter to share a handwritten thank-you note she penned to the Best Actor nominee, after he chose to wear cufflinks celebrating Watson's #HeForShe campaign to the annual ceremony.
In the note, Watson referred to Carell as "pure genius" in Little Miss Sunshine and "mind-blowing" in Foxcatcher, then thanked the actor for supporting her cause.
Watson launched the #HeForShe campaign, which aims to galvanize male support for gender equality and women's rights, at the United Nations last year.
"Thanks @EmWatson. An honor to support #HeForShe and gender equality," Carell tweeted back.
