Austrian actor Christoph Waltz received the 2,536th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday.
Waltz was joined by director Quentin Tarantino -- who twice cast the actor in his films -- and Samuel L. Jackson at the ceremony.
Waltz's career in the United States got started in 2009 when Tarantino cast him in Inglourious Basterds. He won a supporting actor Academy Award for that role and a second Oscar for his role in another Tarantino film, Django Unchained.
Speaking at Monday's ceremony, Tarantino described Waltz as a combination of two types of actors.
"On one hand he is a master thespian," Tarantino said. "On the other hand he's also a tool box actor ... he builds that character with his little saw and his little hammer and little nails from scratch.
"It's an exciting thing to watch."
Waltz thanked Tarantino for pointing him out as "one little light" or star in the greater constellation of Hollywood.
"This, of course, is something that I as the guy from Vienna would not even have dreamt about in my wildest dreams," Waltz said.
Waltz is next slated to appear in Horrible Bosses 2 and Tim Burton's Big Eyes.
