Bryan Cranston is open to reprising Walter White on Better Call Saul.
The 59-year-old actor said as much in an interview with Access Hollywood at San Diego Comic-Con. Cranston portrayed White on Breaking Bad, and is rumored to return as the character on the spinoff.
"Better Call Saul is a show that stands on its own and does quite well," he lauded. "That being said, if [series creator] Vince [Gilligan] thought there was some legitimate reason why my character would brush up against those characters, I would do it."
"I would do it in a heartbeat because I owe him -- and it's a great show," he said of the AMC series. "But he wouldn't do it just for stunt casting. It would be for story reasons. There would be something cool behind it."
Better Call Saul takes place six years prior, and follows Breaking Bad character Saul Goodman, aka Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk). Gilligan previously said White would be written in "if it makes sense," and frequent rumors continue to fuel fan hopes Cranston will cameo.
The actor also addressed reports he was in talks to play Lex Luthor in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, telling ABC News, "I was never approached by Warner Bros. for that. I just think [the media] thought, 'Who's a menacing bald guy? The guy who played Walter White!'"
Better Call Saul premiered in February, and will return for a second season in 2016. Cranston will voice Titanium Rex on new Crackle animated series SuperMansion, and is also scheduled for Dalton Trumbo biopic Trumbo and an adaptation of John Steinbeck novel In Dubious Battle.
