Beyonce and Jay Z have been sued by a Hungarian singer who claims her voice is sampled without her permission in the couple's hit single "Drunk In Love."
Beyonce, 33, released the track on Dec. 13, 2013 as part of her surprise visual album, Beyoncé. She and Jay Z are credited as the recording artists on the track while Detail, Andre Eric Proctor, Rasool Diaz, Brian Soko, Timbaland, Jerome Harmon, and Boots are credited with composing the song.
On Friday, Hungarian singer Monika Juhasz Miczura, aka Mitsou, filed legal documents that claim her vocals from a folk song titled "Bajba, Bajba Pelem" were sampled without her permission on Beyonce's song.
"Mitsou's voice was [then] sampled and digitally manipulated without her permission," reads her suit, according to Page Six.
Mitsou's voice first appears in the first 13 seconds of the track and all together "for over one and a half minutes of the five-and-a-half-minute song," per the court documents filled in Manhattan.
The singer's suit states she "never signed any documents that would permit anyone to use her voice for advertising or trade purposes" and adds that the "blatant unauthorized use of [her] voice for trade purposes is causing irreparable harm and emotional distress."
She's seeking unspecified damages from Beyonce and Jay Z.
The couple's rep has yet to address the suit.
