HarperCollins says it has hired Mitch Winehouse to write a book about his daughter, Amy, a popular British singer-songwriter who died in July.The Hollywood Reporter said "Amy: My Daughter" is set for publication next summer."I feel that I need to write this book to tell the true story of Amy and to help with my personal recovery," Winehouse said, adding he will donate the proceeds from the sale of the book to the Amy Winehouse Foundation."Amy Winehouse could have been anyone's daughter," said Lisa Sharkey, senior vice president at HarperCollins. "She was Mitch's pride and joy, and he did everything he could to save her life. ... This will surely be the definitive book about Amy. Nobody else could write it."The Grammy Award-winning artist died at age 27 after years of alcohol and drug abuse.
