The Coalition of Sub-Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers voice demands in Friday conference A press conference was held Friday by the Coalition of Sub-Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) at the Police Club in Upper Egypt's city of Minya to demand financial rights. "Our main demand is an increase in the pension to LE40,000 in addition to another LE500 to be considered as a supplementary pension," said Mamdouh Amer, head of the financial affairs committee in the coalition. Another demand was an allowance worth 100 per cent of their salaries to be allocated as hazard pay. The conference emphasised the need to confront corruption within the Ministry of Interior. Present at the conference were more than 350 junior policemen who came from various governorates, including Cairo. The coalition was formed following the 25 January uprising, to protect the rights of sub-officers and NCOs. Last October, hundreds of sub-officers and NCOs protested near the interior ministry in Cairo, voicing the same demands. From Ahramonline
