The overall Construction Cost Index (CCI) reached 113.34 with an increase of 0.13% in the West Bank during August compared to July 2012 (base month December 2007=100), according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) report on Tuesday. It said that the changes in the CCI for August 2012 is traced back to the changes in the cost of the major construction inputs such as Iron and steel which decreased by 0.98% and Cement, lime and gypsum which decreased by 0.10%. The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 115.14 with an increase of 1.05% in the West Bank during August compared to June 2012 (base month December 2008=100). The changes in the RCI for August 2012 is traced back to the changes in the cost of the major road inputs, such as Raw materials and Iron and Steel which increased by 1.44% and 1.10, and Quarries & quarrying products which increased by 0.10%, respectively. The increase by 0.68% in the overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) was also included in PCBS report. WNCI reached 109.56 in the West Bank in August compared to July.
