Housing Ministry denied a report circulated by one of the local newspapers that housing projects have been stopped in the kingdom due to shortage of budget for land acquisition in one of the governorates. The ministry pointed out that all housing projects in all governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain are going on according to scheduled plans.. The ministry said in a statement today that there was no truth in the report which alleged that some project, and addmited that some delays may occur as a result of the ministry's keenness to obtain the optimum price for any project’s land. On the issue of acquisition of land allocated for housing projects, the ministry also confirmed that it is up to the competent authorities to agree on the best price for the land, and stressed the ministry’s commitment to obtain the lowest possible price for the land of any housing project in order to save public funds entrusted to the Ministry and on the one hand, in order to reduce the total cost incurred on housing projects. The ministry stressed its commitment with the implementation of the Valley housing project, and said that the Ministry it is awaiting the final report to be submitted by the consultancy firm after preview and assessment of the project’s land, and its suitability for reclamation, and the possibility of starting the implementation of the project and construction of housing units allocated to that district in the Central Governorate soon. Regarding the Tubli housing project, the ministry said that the acquisition of land for the project is well underway , and that the plan for this housing project is going quite well, however, the ministry denied any budgetary constraints which may impede the acquisition of the land allocated for the project itself, or any other projects anywhere in the Kingdom of Bahrain. On the other hand, the Ministry of Housing confirmed that housing projects is experiencing a significant acceleration in the paceover the governorates in the kingdom, and that the Ministry is fully committed to its plans and timetables for implementation of these projects, and at the same time the ministry urged everybody for the need to investigate the accuracy of any news and information being circulated regarding any housing project .
