In the framework of the housing projects adopted by the Ministry of Housing to meet the housing applications of the Province in accordance with the five-year strategic plan that was announced the current mid-year, Minister of Housing, Engineer Bassim Bin Yaacoob Al Hamar stated that the ministry has recently started implementing a number of housing projects in the Southern Province. The Minister also stated that the project included Heniniya, West Riffa, Al Door, and the second phase of Askar housing project. He also said that those projects that were launched included building 280 housing units in Heniniya project, 59 housing units in West Riffa project, 66 units in the second phase of Askar project, in addition to 14 housing units in Al Door project. The Minister highlighted that when those projects are implemented, then the ministry will have fulfilled constructing 813 housing units in the Southern Province, where those projects will be added to the others that are being implemented in the province, like Zalaq project 200 housing units, East Riffa project 73 housing units, the first phase of Askar project 61 housing units and Jaw project which includes constructing 60 housing units. Meanwhile, the Minister pointed out that the ministry is providing great efforts to accelerate implementing those new housing projects in the province. He also expressed his happiness with the follow up of the engineering working team in those projects, directing them to the need to work to overcome all difficulties and obstacles in coordination with the contractors responsible for the projects, to ensure rapid achievement.
