Kuwait's Ministry of Public Works announced on Monday conclusion of most construction works of a causeway and railway at the building site of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port. Construction of 91 percent of the railway network and 94 percent of the causeway for motorists has been finished, said Ghaleb Shalash, the director of mega projects follow-up department, following an inspection of the site by the Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, Dr. Fadhel Safar. The minister, during the tour, inspected the construction site and the work for soil treatment, he said, indicating that he also inspected a makeshift bridge linking the island of Boubyan with the harbor site. Minister Safar has also observed, at locations northeast of the island, designing, dredging works, construction of piers, as well as equipment of the management offices. Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project is a national mega scheme, part of the national development strategy, according to a report of Kuwait News Agency 'KUNA'.
