Emaar Properties (EMAAR.DFM) has launched a mixed-use development in Cairo as the Dubai-based real estate giant continues to expand its footprint in key emerging markets to drive growth. The project, called Emaar Square, is located in Egypt's $2.1 billion Uptown Cairo development and will include a mall, five-star hotel and serviced residences, Emaar said in a statement Monday. "Egypt is one of our key international markets where we are already developing three fully-established master planned communities," Ahmad Al Matrooshi, managing director at Emaar , said in the statement.
