Emaar Properties, the UAE’s biggest developer by market value, has expanded its board to 11 members from eight, according to a recommendation by Dubai’s crown prince. Four of the current board’s eight members have been nominated by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, according to a statement to the Dubai stock market today. They include Mohamed Ali Alabbar, Hussain Al Qemzi, Ahmad Jamal Jawa and Ahmad Thani Al Matrooshi. The new members would be Abdullah Mohammed Al Marri, Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, Arif Al Dehail, Abdulrahman Hareb Rashid Al Hareb, Fadhel Al Ali, Marwan Iqbal Mohammed Abdullah Abdeen, and Abdullah Balyuha. Lowai Mohamed Belhoul, Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Saeed Al Tayer and Khalifa Hassan Aldaboos are currently on Emaar’s board, according to the company’s website. They were not nominated, according to today’s statement. The current board will complete its term in April.
