The industrial production in Macedonia saw a 5.1 percent increase in July, compared to the same period of last year, Macedonia's State Statistical Office announced Tuesday.
While considering the production volume in the seven months, the office said that the industrial production index for the period January-July 2016, in comparison with January-July 2015, marked an increase of 5.6 percent.
Industrial production in manufacturing sector increased by 6.1 percent. mostly due to increased production in the manufacture of beverages, tobacco, textiles, basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, other non-metallic mineral products, machinery and equipment, etc, official data showed.
Meantime, in the sector of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, the industrial production volume marked a higher increase of 15.4 percent.
On the other hand, the industrial production in the sector of mining and quarrying fell by 5.5 percent in July 2016 compared to a year ago, the statistical office said.
The industrial production was higher in energy by 12.5 percent, capital goods by 34.5 percent and durable consumer goods by 57.3 percent, but lower in intermediate goods, it added.
