The U.S. dollar changed hands in the lower 102 yen zone early Monday morning in Tokyo, with the yen rising as traders fled to safer assets after Britain voted to leave the European Union in a referendum.
At 9 a.m. local time, the dollar was quoted at 102.19-21 compared with 102.10-20 yen in New York and 103.05-10 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday.
The euro fetched 1.1037-1038 and 112.77-80 yen against 1.1105-1115 dollars and 113.50-60 yen in New York and 1.1155-1162 dollars and 115.01-05 yen in Tokyo late Friday afternoon.
