More than 100 businessmen from China's Zhejiang province came to Poland to establish relations with local businesses, Zhejiang Province Governor Li Qiang announced in Warsaw on Tuesday. "The businessmen from the Zhejiang province represent agricultural, services, automotive, electronic and clothing sectors, among others," Li said at the Zhejiang - Poland Matchmaking Forum. The forum was organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ), in collaboration with China's Embassy in Warsaw. A total of 36 Polish firms have already invested in Zhejiang, according to the province governor. "We support foreign investors and we encourage our entrepreneurs to invest abroad. That is what we want to say to Polish businessmen. We hope that today's meeting will help strengthen our economic and trade cooperation, which will translate into new jobs," Li Qiang said. Zhejiang is a well-developed Chinese province with 50 million inhabitants. It generates some 7 percent of China's gross domestic product and its annual trade amounted to 300 billion U.S. dollars in 2013, including 200 billion dollars in exports, according to the province governor. PAIiIZ head Slawomir Majman stressed Poland's success in fending off the global crisis. "We want Chinese companies to increase their participation in Poland's re-industrialization," Majman said.
