Three-digit number Z-777 bagged the biggest bid of Dh3.5 million at the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) 94th Open Auction for Distinctive Licensing Plates.
The auction that saw 80 unique number plates go under the hammer fetched Dh32.478 million.
Five of these plates accounted for the lion’s share of the revenue generated by the auction, including O-18 which went for Dh3.08 million, U-66 fetched Dh3 million, while M-29 and R-786 bagged Dh1.82 million and Dh1 million, respectively.
Commenting on the results of the auction, Ahmad Hashim Behroozian, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, said, “The distinguished number auctions held by the RTA are characterised by their transparency, passion and adaptability to the aspirations and ambitions of clients who fancy such plates and consider the pleasure of owning them part of their distinctive personalities.”
