VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 637.34 points on Tuesday, up 7.88 points, or 1.25 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.
About 98.867 million shares worth 2.059 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (94.28 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 153 stocks went up, 57 stocks fell down, while 75 stocks remained unchanged.
VN30-Index, the new benchmark index for the southern bourse, which tracks the 30 leading stocks by both market capitalization and liquidity, closed at 21.43 points, up 6.78 points, or 1.1 percent.
A total of 38.938 million shares worth 1.176 trillion VND (53.88 million U.S. dollars) were traded on Tuesday.
