US stocks rose on Tuesday, with the Dow and Nasdaq hitting their latest in a series of records, as the market’s recent upward trend led by a rally in bank stocks continued unabated.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.46% rose 91.56 points, or 0.5%, to close at a record of 19,974.62.
The Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, +0.49% struck its own intraday and closing records, rising as high as 5,489.47. It ended up 26.50 points to 5,483.94. The S&P 500 SPX, +0.36% rose 8.23 points, or 0.4%, to 2,270.76.
