Mobily’s Chief Business Officer Ismail AlGhamdi said that there is a noticeable demographic change worldwide especially in the last two decades. Migration to urban areas brought pressure on the infrastructure and services of those cities and increased the demand for advanced telecom solutions to contribute effectively in solving some of these challenges.
AlGhamdi made these remarks as the main speaker at Municipality Excellence and Expansion Summit in Riyadh.
AlGhamdi stressed the importance of developing smart cities and highlighted Mobily’s crucial role in this process. New technologies will be introduced contributing to providing technical solutions to some challenges in health care services, power solutions, transportation and Industries to improve logistics support and traffic by creating smart roads; and other daily life services.
Alghamidi said: “The objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 is clear and requires major development in the provided services. Therefore, the digital innovation becomes a necessity more than ever to boost the wheel of economy. Municipalities will play a big role in cities transformation and analyzing big data to produce a new generation of user-adaptable services.”
Mobily’s participation in Municipality Excellence and Expansion Summit comes out of its belief in government and private sector integration. Municipality services have a direct impact on the lives of citizens and expats, he added.
Since Mobily is a pioneer telecom operator in Saudi Arabia, it can contribute in cities’ transformation and facilitate in providing many services by collaborating with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs.
