Mobily, which participated recently as a main speaker at the Broadband World Forum in London, showcased its pioneer experience in IoT implementation and what such pivot service provides to smart cities transformation.
Mobily experience was reviewed by Yaarob Al-Sayegh, executive GM FTTH, who stressed on the experience of Mobily in transforming some cities in the Kingdom to become smart equipped with advanced technical services which contributes in facilitating the daily life of citizens and expatriates.
Al-Sayegh confirmed that the open access network design supports telecom operators to provide their technical services to cities infrastructure, and data centers allow applications hosting. This helps telecom operators to provide IoT and other technologies like traffic lights automation, traffic cameras, smart meters and others.
Al-Sayegh added that Mobily provided integrated infrastructure to some cities by integrating it with FTTH network, and despite higher CAPEX cost, but it has provided these cities with the potential of complete technical transformation, which is in line with Saudi Vision 2030. Such cities could provide safety and security services and complete technical control services, which majorly contributes in reducing the infrastructure CAPEX cost of these cities by operational efficiency and on-demand services.”
Broadband World Forum events are held annually, where technical experts gather from all over the world to discuss the latest technical challenges and provide innovative solutions for it.
The forum aims to present practical solutions to the latest telecom technologies by 2020, and that plays majorly in developing telecom and IT industries.
