LG Electronics has announced the winners of its LG Home Chef Competition organized at the Makarem Annaheel Hotel & Resort Jeddah on Dec. 26. The competition, which highlighted LG’s close relationship with the Saudi community, generated much excitement as amateur cooks showcased their best culinary skills.
Ohoud Al-Sharabi took home the first prize of a gift voucher worth SR10, 000 from one of the Naghi-LG stores, apart from a microwave oven. The runner-up was Rahma Lashkar, while Rajaa Sarhan came in third, and Bushra Ahmed took the fourth place. Each of these finalists also received a microwave oven.
The winners were selected by a judging panel of experts such as Chef Khloud Suhail — a member of the Saudi Arabian Chefs Association — on the basis of criteria involving creativity, ease of cooking, healthy recipe, presentation, taste and quality, coordination between team members and cleanliness.
Expressing delight at hosting the competition, B.H. Kim, managing director of the Naghi Group, exclusive distributors of LG products in Saudi Arabia, said: “The competition was a highly successful event that helped identify some of the best cooking talents in Saudi Arabia. As a major player in Saudi market, LG is proud to have hosted this contest. LG’s new cooking products contribute to highlighting the cooking capacities of Saudi communities. The event particularly demonstrated the features of the LG gas ranges and how they can be used to add flavor to every area of life.”
Al-Sharabi, top prize winner, said: “It was a remarkable experience with the competition which has highlighted LG’s close association with every home in Saudi Arabia. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it and thank LG for giving amateur cooks like me the opportunity to display our talent.”
The culinary delights were prepared by the contestants using LG gas ranges.
The LG Home Chef Competition builds on the success of the LG Life Tastes Good Championship Competition, organized by LG for the last several years in Saudi Arabia.
