This is the fifth year that Emicool has won the prestigious award, reflecting its commitment to promoting environmental sustainability in the UAE and the region.
Emirates District Cooling LLC (Emicool), a major district cooling service provider in the region and a joint venture of Dubai Investments PJSC and Union Properties, has been recognized with top industry awards in two categories at the 107th International District Energy Association (IDEA) Annual Conference and Trade Show held recently in Minnesota, USA.
Emicool bagged the silver award for the greatest number of buildings committed to district energy beyond North America and the bronze award for the total building area committed to district energy beyond North America.
This is the fifth year that Emicool has won the prestigious award, reflecting its commitment to promoting environmental sustainability in the UAE and the region.
Adib Moubadder, CEO of Emicool, said: “Emicool has consistently grown to increase its market share in the UAE and across the region. Winning the IDEA award for the fifth time in two different categories is a great honor for Emicool, reaffirming the company’s strategic business model and growth journey.”
Emicool currently provides district cooling services to over 17,000 customers in the UAE, with the most efficient and highest quality infrastructure.
The company is planning to increase its plant capacity to 500,000 tons of refrigeration (TR) by 2020 as rampant construction is leading to pent-up demand for district cooling services across the UAE and region.
Headquartered in Dubai Investments Park, Emicool provides services to green community within DIP, Dubai Motor City, Dubai Sports City and Uptown Mirdif.
Since its establishment in 1909, IDEA has advanced the global district energy industry.
With over 2,100 members from 25 countries, IDEA has developed the annual conference and trade show to serve as a platform to address key issues such as district energy infrastructure and promote the delivery of higher energy efficiency for mitigating carbon emissions.
