Emirates District Cooling LLC (Emicool) – a leading district cooling service provider in the region and a joint venture of Dubai Investments PJSC and Union Properties — has won two leading industry awards in a week in recognition of its achievements in promoting environmental sustainability in the UAE and region.
The company won the Carbon Champion Award at the 7th International District Energy Association [IDEA] District Cooling Conference in Dubai recently, which recognized its contribution to reduction of CO2 emissions through deployment of highly efficient district cooling services in the Gulf.
Sanela Habbab, COO of Emicool, received the award.
Emicool was also adjudged the ‘Best District Cooling Utility Provider’ at the 6th Climate Control Awards 2016 conferred by CPI Industry.
The award was in recognition of its excellence in providing innovative, reliable and energy-efficient district cooling solutions.
Speaking at the opening plenary discussion of the IDEA District Cooling Conference, Adib Moubadder, CEO of Emicool, said: “The District Cooling concept in the UAE is on a consistent growth phase, with healthy competition among the key players. The Regulatory Supervisory Bureau (RSB) has a strategic role to play in creating a sustainable growth for the district cooling sector.”

Emicool currently provides district cooling services to over 17,000 customers in the UAE, with the most efficient and highest quality infrastructure.
