Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), has participated in the 12th Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly, Conference/Exhibition.
The event took place from in the Qatari capital Doha on April 10-12. The annual event gathers aviation leaders including CEOs, airport senior executives and industry representatives from across the Middle East region to discuss trends and challenges, as well as propose ideas for the future.
"Our Airport Modernisation Programme (AMP) at BIA is a prime example of a programme launched in response to increasing passenger growth while aspiring to meet the evolving trends and expectations of the global traveler ," said the Company's CEO, Mohamed Yousef Al Binfalah.
"The programme will increase the terminal capacity to 14 million passengers a year and develop a number of support facilities such as a super gate, fire station, central utilities center, multistory car park and fuel farm. It will also offer state-of-the-art technological innovations and an efficient design to process passengers We’re grateful for the opportunity to take part in this event and share our experience with our peers."
BAC is the authority responsible for enhancing BIA and increasing the airport’s contribution to the local economy in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. In its operational role, BAC is responsible for elevating the airport’s operations, infrastructure and services. This is set to improve BIA’s capabilities and cater to the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of stakeholders
