Oman Air Cargo, one of the leading national air cargo carriers in the region, held its first Oman Air Cargo Awards on Dec. 14 at the Crowne Plaza Muscat. The event was to recognize outstanding achievements among the cargo division’s local agencies, and to highlight its future development plans.
Mohammed Al Musafir, senior VP – Commercial, said: “As the Sultanate of Oman makes rapid strides in all spheres of industry to further diversify its economy, the logistics industry has become an integral element of Oman’s future development plans. Oman Air has taken off on an ambitious growth strategy in our endeavor ‘To Become The Best.’ It will see us expand our existing international network even further, increase the strength of our fleet, delivering even more consignments to more destinations than ever before. However, we at Oman Air Cargo recognize that our agencies, our core partners, are the cornerstone of the accomplishments and growth that the cargo division has witnessed over a short span of 8 years. This award ceremony will further strengthen the mutual relations between Oman Air and its cargo partners, by recognizing our most successful partners over the course of 2016, and to look forward to a more fruitful cooperation.”
Oman Air Cargo took the opportunity to present its future plans of wider product mix that includes Express Cargo, Perishables, Pharmaceuticals, Valuables, Dangerous Goods, and Live Animals, conforming to industry standards and also set new benchmarks to further enhance the national carrier’s international operations.
“Oman Air Cargo Awards” is a pan-Oman forum to recognize the successes of the local air cargo industry that operates in partnership with the Oman Air cargo division. As Oman Air Cargo looks to strengthen its presence in the market, the awards are a testament of its dedication to its partners, and the commitment toward continuous development. Winners at the 2016 Oman Air Cargo Awards are as follows: Agency of the Year went to National Travel & Tourism, Highest Growth Year-on-Year was Mezoon International, Highest Yield Return to Eagle Freight and Partnership Appreciation award to Oman Air Sats Cargo.
