Experts expect investments exceeding SR41 billion in the Saudi health sector in the next five years. In April, 18 American companies specializing in health services are also expected to enter the Saudi market.
These disclosures were made during the Saudi International Forum on Healthcare titled "Health Economies Focus on Research, Technology and Training," which was opened Sunday by Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majid.
Participants stressed the need to activate partnerships between the private and public sectors to face challenges and constraints before the sector, mainly the nationalization of jobs, reduction of treatment costs, elimination of medical errors and encouraging scientific research and inventions.
The governor stressed the need to look after the health of citizens and residents, and to offer sophisticated health services worthy of the stature of the Kingdom in the region.
Mazen Batterjee, deputy chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, estimated the health sector will absorb investments exceeding SR41 billion over the next five years, according to a local publication.
