The volume of the Egyptian imports from the European Union rose to 20.6 billion euros in 2016 comparing to 20.4 billion euros in 2015.
In a report issued on Sunday, Trade and Industry Ministry said that the volume of metal products imports from the European Union reached 1.6 billion euros in 2016 comparing to 1.3 billion euros in 2015. While the volume of furniture products imports reached 127 million euros in 2016 comparing to 106 million euros in 2015.
The volume of engineering and electronics products imports reached 8.4 billion euros in 2016 comparing to 7.3 billion euros in 2015.
The report added that the volume of agriculture products imports reached 894 million euros in 2016 comparing to 1.2 billion euros in 2015. While the volume of food products imports reached 421 million euros in 2016 comparing to 493 million euros in 2015. And drugs imports reached 2.6 billion euros in 2016 comparing to 2.8 billion euros in 2015.
Meanwhile, the volume of the Egyptian exports to the European Union decreased from 7.2 billion euros in 2015 to 6.6 billion euros in 2016.
The report said that the volume of petroleum products exports reached 2.4 billion euros in 2016 comparing to 3.1 billion euros in 2015. While the volume of food products exports reached 94 million euros in 2016 comparing to 111 million euros in 2015. And furniture exports reached 18 million euros in 2016 comparing to 20 million euros in 2015.
While the volume of metal products exports reached 447 million euros in 2016 comparing to 442 million euros in 2015. And the volume of drugs' products exports reached 639 million euros in 2016 comparing to 422 million euros in 2015. And agriculture exports reached 752 million euros in 2016 comparing to 677 million euros in 2015.
