Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, has launched the eco-friendly electric vehicle to facilitate the work of parking monitors in the Emirate of Ajman, and set a model for entire population to use such vehicles.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director - General of the municipality and other executive directors.
"The protection of environment remains one of the most important goals we all seek to achieve in line with the vision of the wise leadership to make the UAE one of the world's green states," Sheikh Rashid said.
He explained that supplying parking monitors in Ajman with the eco-friendly vehicles, reflects the municipal keenness to use all distinctive technologies including encouraging others to follow their example and increase the number of those interested in clean vehicles.
Sheikh Rashid noted that the department always sought to protect the environment in various ways and to combat environmental problems and pollutants that negatively overshadow various aspects of life.
The municipal official added that the department had issued positive decisions to stimulate those interested in hybrid environmentally-friendly vehicles through exempting them from the payment of the parking fees.
