Prime Minister Imad khamis discussed on Monday with a Russian official and economic delegation headed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin economic cooperation between Syria and Russia, and Russia’s important role in the reconstruction stage in Syria.
Khamis said that Syria will continue the fight against terrorism until its territory is fully cleared of it, in parallel with launching the production process and preparing the appropriate environment to attract investments, all of which aims at reinvigorating the national economy.
Khamis affirmed the government’s keenness to strengthen trade exchange between Syria and Russia, appreciating Russia’s support for the Syrian people in international forums.
For his part, Rogozin hailed the efforts of the Syrian government to overcome the obstacles caused by the terrorist war and its keenness to rebuild what has been destroyed by terrorism.
He expressed his country’s desire to enhance economic cooperation with Syria to include all the vital fields.
In a press statement following the meeting, Rogozin said that the Syrian government called on the Russian companies to participate actively in the reconstruction phase, adding that Russia is working to supply the Russian market regularly with Syrian agricultural products and increase exports of Russian products to Syria.
