The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), a non-governmental federation for human rights, confirmed that five French financial institutions are financing the Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian lands.
In a report issued Wednesday, FIDH said explained that four French banks and an insurance company are directly contributing to the survival of the illegal settlements through the continued support for Israeli banks and companies operating in these settlements.
According to the report, these French financial groups run financial partnerships or have shares in Israeli banks that represent a key tool in settlement policy through financing construction in these settlements.
Since decades, the Israeli occupation has been intending to build illegal settlements on the Palestinians' lands aiming at depriving them from the right to build their independent state, in a clear violation of the resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, the Security Council and the international community.
