Exports of the Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council (CEC) upped about 32 percent to stand at dlrs 1.02 billion in the first quarter of 2017.
In a report a copy of which MENA obtained on Tuesday, the council said fertilizers exports skyrocketed by 67 percent to stand at dlrs 226.6 million in the first quarter of 2017 against dlrs 159.6 million in the corresponding period in 2016.
Organic chemical exports catapulted by 244 percent to stand at dlrs 96.23 million in the first quarter of 2017 against dlrs 28.01 million in the first quarter of 2016.
Egypt resumed exportation of carton after a suspension last year, the report said.
