The Bahrain British Business Forum’s (BBBF)'s Special Interest Group (SIG) for Young Professionals recently hosted an exclusive networking event for Bahrain’s young professionals.
The event featured Zayed R. Alzayani, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, as the guest of honour and keynote speaker. The event, held at the Bahrain Bourse at Harbour Gate, was attended by over 80 young professionals and BBBF members from a variety of Bahrain’s business sectors.
In his speech Alzayani discussed Bahrain’s current economic circumstances and the outlook for the remainder of the year. He encouraged the young professionals and budding entrepreneurs to confidently grab opportunities to establish operations, work hard and grow beyond the borders of Bahrain. Following the presentation an interactive Q&A session was held where the attendees enthusiastically took the opportunity to gain further knowledge on developments the Ministry is working on in building the start-up ecosystem in the country.
Commenting on the importance of the event, Ava Garbutt, co-head of the Young Professionals SIG, said: "BBBF’s Young Professionals’ networking events are designed to expand the knowledge of Bahrain’s start-up workforce while connecting them to a vast network of established executives, in order to propel their careers forward. By affording them the chance to gather and network, young professionals can take the opportunity to forge lifelong business connections."
Bahrain’s Young Professionals SIG was set up with the mission to provide its members access to the kingdom’s largest and most prolific business association and its vast network. The organisation holds a number of social and business networking events throughout the year which are designed to give the leaders of the future, the opportunity to meet on a regular basis in a friendly environment with BBBF members, invited guests and senior business community.
