King Abdullah II of Jordan on Tuesday asked the government to attach better interest to investors'' demands to create a suitable environment to help them expand their business to create jobs and spur growth. At a meeting with Arab and foreign investors in the Kingdom, the King asked them to set issues of priority to help authorities address them as soon as possible and draw up a strategy to enhance foreign investments. "I want to listen to your comments on investment climate and challenges facing you to study procedures that should be taken to enhance business climate," the King told the investors, noting economic reform efforts which go parallel to political reform, the Jordanian news agency Petra reported. He underlined the importance of public-private partnership and the need to allow the private sector and Arab and foreign investors to be part of the sustainable economic development. The King said it was important to keep adopting economic policies that motivate the private sector and empower business climate in Jordan, adding that economic outlook of the Kingdom is positive. Unemployment, he said, remains one of the main challenges in Jordan. This fact requires hard work to spur economy and create jobs, he added.
