The Tawazun Economic Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus on Sunday at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference, IDEX 2017, in Abu Dhabi.
Future cooperation in the field of defence was the primary objective behind the signing of the Memorandum, laying a roadmap for cooperation in certain areas of interest to both parties.
The MoU, signed on the sidelines of IDEX 2017, includes the production, modernisation, overhaul and delivery of aviation and defence materials, radio-electronic equipment, reconnaissance and warfare, telecommunication and information systems. The parties will also be exchanging expertise in research, development, training, production, overhaul and maintenance for future joint projects.
The Belarus delegation was invited to take a tour with Saif Mohamed Al Hajeri, CEO of Tawazun Economic Council and Tawazun Holding, who provided the visiting dignitaries with a brief on each of Tawazun’s subsidiaries, after which he explained the role that both Tawazun and the council play in developing opportunities to stimulate partnerships and encourage growth in the private sector.
Al Hajeri stressed the importance of the agreement in strengthening bilateral relations under the guidance and support of the leadership of both countries.
