The government of Bahrain is set to issue special Bahraini ID cards to all investors from other member states of the Gulf Co-operation Council, GCC, in a bid to help them conduct hassle-free transactions at various service departments in the kingdom, the state-run Bahrain News Agency reported today.
Through the move, Bahrain seeks to strengthen ties with its neighbouring countries and attract more investments, said Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the Information and e-Government Authority, iGA.
The move is line with directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to provide more facilities for GCC residents and investors in Bahrain, he added.
