President Abdel Fattah El Sisi was posted during his inspection tour of the Nasr Company for Intermediate Chemicals on Saturday on the company's history, mission and services.
The 250 feddan company comprises factories for chemical industries, fertilizers, insecticides and medical and industrial gases, the company's Board Chairman Mokhtar Abdel Latif told the president.
The company's Chlorine factory which is due to be opened today will produce 25,000 tons of chlorine annually, he said, noting that this would double the company's annual chlorine output.
This production will meet Egypt's needs of chlorine – which is used at drinking water treatment stations – for the coming years, Abdel Latif said.
Nasr Company for Intermediate Chemicals was established in 1972. It is a major company in manufacturing chemicals, fertilizers, industrial and medical gases and household insecticides.
