Prime Minister Sherif Ismail has said that his government is attaching much importance to following up the implementation of an urgent plan to allocating funds for providing foodstuff that are enough for six months.
At a meeting with Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Tarek Amer on Tuesday evening, Ismail added that all measures are being adopted for controlling the market and maintaining the stability of prices.
Attending the meeting was Minister of Trade and Home Supply Mohamed Ali Meselhi.
Within the framework of coordination between the government and CBE, an agreement was reached whereby CBE will provide the funds necessary to import basic food commodities such as meat, rice, cooking oil, wheat, sugar and poultry.
