Oman's State Council has approved the GCC Trade Marks draft law.
The approval came on Wednesday at the State Council's 17th regular session of the second annual sitting for the sixth term held under the chair of Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of State Council.
During the session, it approved the GCC Trade Marks Draft Law, which was referred by the Council of Ministers. It also approved the reports of the economic committee and Majlis A'Shura on them after including the remarks of the State Council Office on the draft law, which will be raised to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
The State Council also approved the regularisation and protection of aflaj sites inscribed in the World Heritage List draft law, which was referred by the Council of Ministers.
It also approved the two reports of the Media, Culture and Tourism Committee and Majlis A' Shura, which will be also raised to His Majesty the Sultan.
It approved the report of the joint committee between the State Council and Majlis A'Shura on some remarks about amending the Animal Welfare draft law and the Vet Professions Practice draft law.
'Tomorrow's session will be dedicated to discussions on the proposal of the economic committee on the study on ' developing capital markets and banking sector' and the proposal on forming an ad-hoc committee to study the status of the national Programme for Performance and Governmental Creativity, as well as reviewing a number of reports on the Council's work, said the Chairman of the State Council.
