The Minister of Livestock Prof. Musa Tibin Musa has pledged to provide all facilities to support the Sudanese Artificial Insemination Center at Al-Managil in the Gezira State.
Prof. Tibin said, during a meeting with the Director of Turkish Coordination and Cooperation Agency in Sudan (TIKA) Jalaluddin Qonqengji, that Sudan would benefit through the development of the Center to the cattle breeds to fill the dairy gap, pointing out that the milk powder bill amounting to $ 150 million annually.
He stressed his ministry intent, in the near future, to share Turkey in the establishment of the vaccine laboratory of the foot-and-mouth disease in Sudan besides sending of cadres to be trained in Turkey to employ them in supporting the ministry's veterinary hospital.
For his part, The TIKA Director in Khartoum said that the work had completed in the Artificial Insemination Center in Al-Managil, underlining existence of 14,000 sperm ready for pollination, revealing their concern with the center development.
It is worth mentioning that the center has been established through partnership between the Gezira state and TIKA.
