Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Kabil announced that Kuwait approved to lift restrictions on Egyptian strawberry exports.
In a statement on Friday, Kabil stressed Egypt's commitment to quality and safety measures of agro-products exported to Kuwait.
Kuwait's decision crowned intensive efforts exerted by the ministry since Kuwait decided to impose restrictions on Egyptian strawberry exports in October.
Egypt's commitment to the set criteria of exported crops as well as shipping and delivery dates will boost Egyptian agro-exports to Kuwait and the rest of the Gulf States, the Egyptian trade representation head, Ahmed Antar, said.
Kuwait has called on Egypt to get a certificate from the Kuwaiti embassy in Cairo ensuring the safety of any Egyptian strawberry shipment to Kuwait.
Egyptian strawberry exports to Kuwait stand at about 51 million dollars annually.
