It is difficult to take a decision to suspend imports, said Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil.
Egypt is a member at the World Trade Organization, which is assigned to control the commercial rules among the various countries, he added during his meeting with members of the 6th Of October Investors Association on Monday.
He also said that Egypt has signed several free trade agreements with a number of Arab, African and foreign countries, a matter which stipulates exchanging products through imports and exports.
The government is taking measures to put an end to the entry of products of unknown origin, he added.
Talking about supporting exports, Qabil said that the program has been changed and will be modified soon.
Coordination was held with the Central Bank of Egypt in order to draw up a mechanism to encourage banks to pump more loans in the investment spheres.
