Housing Minister Moustafa Madboly and Cairo Governor Atef Abdel Hamid reviewed on Thursday the progress realized so far in the EGP 190.5 million project of developing the slum area of Tal al Aqareb in Cairo's Sayeda Zeinab district.
Some 195 houses were evacuated and their residents were sent to temporary houses in Sixth of October City.
Residents will be handed over new apartments in Tal al Aqareb once the project is finalized, Madboly said.
Cairo governorate had allocated about EGP 10 billion for re-building 67 unsafe districts and EGP 165 million for 15 higgledy-piggledy areas.
In Munshaat Naser, projects are being implmented at EGP 600 million, Madboly said.
In Salam district, projects are being carried out at EGP 505 million cost.
In Batn el Baqra district, projects are being set up at EGP 900 million, he added.
In 15th of May city, projects are in the pipeline at a total cost of EGP 224 million.
