A feasibility study for building a petrochemical complex, which will be a downstream venture of Duqm Refinery, will be completed within months, said Yusuf Al Jahdami, project director at Duqm refinery. The feasibility study for the petrochemical project, which are planned near the refinery, are underway.
The facilities will include storage facilities for naphtha and LPG. “Hopefully, this will be complete in the coming months,” noted Al Jahdami.
Bakheet Shabib Al Rashidi, chief executive officer of Kuwait Petroleum International, said that his company is committed to build the petrochemical project, if it is viable.
“Based on the results, if it is positive, we are committed to start the project,” he further added.
