Egyptians topped the list of Arab real estate investors in Dubai in 2016.
About 1,364 Egyptian investors spent about EGP 13 billion in the Dubai real estate sector in 2016, said a report by the Dubai Land Department (DLD) on the real estate transactions in Dubai in 2016.
The report – a copy of which MENA obtained - said that the total real estate sector transactions in Dubai in 2016 hit AED 259 billion.
The total investments in the Dubai real estate sector exceeded AED 91 billion, including AED 35 billion by 12,768 Gulf investors.
Jordanian investors came next to Egyptians on the list with 1,331 businessmen pumping AED 2.5 billion investments.
The list then included Lebanon, Iraq, Sudan, Palestine, Yemen and Algeria.
Non-Arab and non-Gulf investors in the Dubai real estate sector stood at 22,834 investors from 136 states with estimated AED 44 billion investments, the report said.
India topped foreign investors then came Pakistan, Britain, China, Canada, Iran, Russia, US and France.
