Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, has launched new expansions at passenger Operations Department at Dubai International Airport - Terminal 2. They included development of the CCTV room and the Baggage Handling System (BHS) room, plus revamping the staff lounge.
The new development included enhancements to the CCTV room which helps Dubai Customs’ officers analyse luggage and passengers and communicate with the inspectors on site to recommend further inspection.
The monitors at the Baggage Handling System room were also replaced with more advanced ones. The staff lounge was also revamped.
Ahmed Musabih toured concourses (1), (2), and (3) to view the services provided for passengers. He was accompanied by Abdullah Al Khaja, Executive Director of Customer Management Division at Dubai Customs, Mohammed Al Muaini, Director of Land Customs Centers Management, and Ibrahim Kamali, Director of Passenger Operations Department.
The Passenger Operation Department plays a great role in helping passengers and attending to their different needs, Musabih Explained.
"The Department works on Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport, and is always keen to enhance relationships with other government departments. There is continual coordination between the Department and Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs, and the Airport Security Department".
"Dubai Customs highly focuses on the security side without compromising the passengers’ comfort. For this, the Department adopts the latest technologies and practices at different customs land, sea and air ports within its vision of becoming the leading customs administration in the world supporting legitimate trade" he concluded.
On his part, Ibrahim Kamali said that Dubai Customs has dealt with more than 33 million passengers from January to November and this meant more than 35 million bags.
"Professionalism and transparency are the norm for all our staff, and security is a top priority" he explained.
