The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has set about the construction of Phase III of Power Management Project within the existing buildings of Sector East 3 in Abu Dhabi downtown area by collecting information about power consumption from residents of about 70 residential, commercial, educational and tourist premises. Specific survey documents are being distributed to respondents and the Municipality is taking additional measurements to analyze responses and use results in realizing the objectives of the next phases of the project and achieving the targeted outputs.According to the construction plan, the project is expected to be completed next December as the project completion rate has hit 20 per cent by the first of October. In the preceding phases of the project, all data have been collected from landlords and concerned bodies '&' analyzed, meanwhile all equipment have been measured '&' tested at site within the said Sector.Engineer Salah Awad Al Sarraj, Acting Executive Director of Town Planning Sector, Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, said: "The Power Saving '&' Management Project is aligned with the strategy of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City and its vision aimed at ensuring superior quality of life and sustained environment for Abu Dhabi city residents. The implementation of this project also comes in line with the Municipality's strategy aimed at utilizing resources and making Abu Dhabi city a safe environment under the rapid development '&' growth and demographic expansion seen by the Emirate; which warrants effective response to all environmental issues." He described the project as one of the leading initiatives undertaken by the Municipality out of its mission to deliver best-in-class services to residents of Abu Dhabi City and keep pace with the present and projected development process in a way that serves and achieves the welfare of the community and enhances sustainability standards and accordingly sets benchmarks of all projects undertaken in future; which in turn ensures a sustainable future and makes Abu Dhabi a model of sustainable metropolis, he added.Al Sarraj called on property landlords and residents within the geographical zone targeted by the project to cooperate and work hand-in-hand with the Municipality by facilitating the tasks of the work team responsible for the implementation of the project. He underlined the importance of boosting joint cooperation to achieve the highest rates of success in applying the power '&' water saving program using the best methods and modern practices.
